Bodyboard-Depot Youth Rampage Goes Off!

With blustery conditions and squalling showers the hardy rampage crew clocked in for some further coaching with a buzz of anticipation about them. Today was competition day! photo (8) We had one late arrival from Dylan Bringnall who made the 5 mile bike ride in the rain with his bodyboard on his back to get here! This boy has commitment! photo (7) North Fistral was serving up some chunky 3ft bowly peaks for the session, so all the groms (including me) where amped to get in the water! We started off with a mini comp, we had Cavan Whitehouse in a Red rashie, Lee Perry in the white, Dylan Bringnall in yellow and Joe Cobley was looking super stylish in the pink! The standard of the competition was very high, the groms took over a peak and scored loads of waves between them. Dylan was getting the longest rides of the day, Lee was consistently busting spins and rolls, Joe was getting to grips with his new Rob Barber Core board (and shredding) and Cavan scored the highest score of the day, an 8 for landing an invert in the tricky conditions. photo 4 After running 2 heats we had 2 winners, Heat 1 Results: 1st Place, Cavan 2nd Place, Lee 3rd Place, Dylan 4th Place, Joe photo 1 Heat 2 Results: 1st Place, Dylan 2nd Place, Lee 3rd Place, Cavan 4th Place, Joe We had some great prizes from Maniac Bodyboarding and The Bodyboard-Depot and everyone left with a sticker pack! photo 2 We are running Youth Rampage on the fist Sunday of every month, we are looking to increase the number of sessions per month. We have instructors to cater for all abilities, from complete beginner to advanced shredder. We always welcome new faces so get involved with the fun! We have just launched our Bodyboard-Depot Youth Rampage Facebook page. There's a great community for all the young bodyboarders to get to know each other, to meet up for surf's and post their own videos and photos.
