QCD. Is there room for another bodyboard brand? The Bodyboard-depot believes there is.

QCD-1 QCD have brought their ever growing range of bodyboards to the UK and the Bodyboard-depot are one of a few shops stocking the collection for 2015. We didn’t know too much about these boards and how they would perform in the colder UK waters so decided to call Todd Quigley and ask him a few questions. Q1. Hi Todd, People in the UK don’t really know much about you so in a few words could you say a little about yourself and what or who inspired you to become one of the worlds leading bodyboard shapers? Answer. “ I have been shaping bodyboards for over 18 years and in that time I have worked with and for a number of different labels and shapers. I started QCD 11 years ago as a custom only brand whilst making team bodyboards for the best riders in the world along with the general public in Australia. I stepped into the stock bodyboard world 3 years ago after leaving VS Boards”. QCD-2 Q2. There are many Bodyboard brands on the market. (Science, Core, NMD, VS,) What makes your bodyboards stand out from the rest? Answer. “ Yes there are so many brands! I have seen many come and go that’s for sure. What makes QCD different from nearly every other brand on the market is that it is run by me and totally designed from a shaper/riders point of view. Not many brands have a shaper to drive there brand and me being behind it I have done things a little different with the stock range, I don’t have “team rider models” I have models that are built for a purpose and not just a riders name to sell a certain shape”. QCD-3 Q3. Finally Todd what in your mind is the perfect set up? Answer. “ The perfect set up is a shape/curve that is working alongside the bodyboards specs and material make up. Coming from a custom board background I know what works and what doesn’t. The perfect set up is a board that you are going to feel at ease on while pushing your bodyboarding to another level”. “So there you have it from the horses mouth, check out the website for the QCD range of boards and make your own mind up.
